Hey, I'm Deniz and I'm here to talk about ways to creating a career by using art.



Drawing is a way of creating new art and gives time for you to find some peace. Creating art could lead to a career pathway. Looking at famous illustrators influences people to making art and finding out new ways to creating art.

My interests and hobbies are creating new art such as drawings. Drawing helps me to use my imagination, and helps me think creatively to make my own art, helping me to improve my drawing and imagination skills.

I have researched two famous illustrators who have created art and built their own career pathway. They first started as the beginners and developed by creating their own merchandise, social media and website. The two illustrators are: Claudine O’Sullivan and Ingrid Sanchez.

Claudine O’Sullivan

Claudine has started her art life by always drawing and was inspired by her mum to being creative and prioritise her work. She has taken various of responsibilities to fully focus on her illustration work. She has succeeded after a while after studying through her university and taking jobs to pay her bills. Now she is fully working on her new illustration work with the enough money saved. She has studied graphic design and illustration to improve herself, she has been struggling whilst looking up to her influencer illustrators; but her tutor talked her through to listen to herself and just draw. Claudine has great drawing skills, displays her artwork on the social media platform, Instagram and Twitter. This helps her to show her work to the world, therefore gaining her own audience. This has led for Claudine to open her own shop for her to sell her artwork as her own merchandise. She sells: cushions, t-shirts, notebooks, art prints, monochrome. This has helped Claudine to grow her work and increase her inspiration and imagination to be creative. 

Ingrid Sanchez

Ingrid started her art life by visiting a botanical garden in Brooklyn, NY. After arriving home, she has decided that she wanted to be creative as she was inspired. She started by drawing anything with textures like strokes, this made her fill her pages in her book. Ingrid has an interest designing watercolour, ink and acrylic drawings. The themes she mostly creates are sea, night sky, fresh flowers. Ingrid displays her artwork on Instagram and her own website. This helped Ingrid to open up her own shop to sell the products she has created; such as pillow covers, phone cases, notebooks, wall stickers, she also runs workshops. 

An art creator website called ‘Cass Art’ to interviewed these illustrators explaining their pathway of their career with their artwork. The website influences individuals who are creating art to build their career using their skills, knowledge and hobbies for each a wider audience.

For people who likes to be creative, they can attend an art class to start creating and building their hobby to be more professional. The three main art groups there are around Swindon are: Artsite, Mams Gallery and Swindon Forum. My own opinion on this topic is that people should listen to themselves. This is by improving themselves by undertaking their own research about art and create their own design/s. Therefore, you are able to improve on creativity and designs.
